Gone Fishing.............

There was rush for the fishing rods as it was announced we were heading to the lake. Bait, was the left over cake mix and Kul and Mr Kirkham gave the group a quick guide to fishing ( I think they got more tips from Kul though!). There was an intense competition to be the first to catch a fish. That honour went to Serena in Year 5 as she quickly caught the first fish of the day. It was a nice way to spend an hour or two as the children settled into the age old battle between fisherman and fish.

With the smell of bait and Mosquito repellent drifted through the air the children began passing tips and ideas as to where the fish might be and how to catch them. It was good to see them getting on together so well. Many had said that this was their first time fishing and that they thoroughly enjoyed the time at the lake and when could they do it again. A promise was made to return later on in the week when we had some free time.

Most stylish fisherperson award, went to Stella who looked like a movie star in her big pink floppy hat and huge sunglasses, and even Mr Kirkham managed to catch a HUGE fish as you can see Nicholas and Jee Eun struggling with in the photograph! (I took a close up of it, if your having difficulty seeing it!).
